Deputy Secretary for Property and Asset Management, Department of General Services (DGS)
Julien Gaudion serves as the Deputy Secretary for Property and Asset Management at the Department of General Services (DGS). In this position, he oversees property administration, capitol police, facility operations, energy and resource management for approximately eight million square feet of DGS operated space. His office also administers the Guaranteed Energy Savings Act (GESA) program, managing over $100 million in statewide energy efficiency and water conservation projects for commonwealth state agencies. During his 24-year career Julien has worked both in the private and public sectors focusing on energy management, facility project management and real estate.
Julien previously served as Corporate Energy Manager at Aqua America Inc., where he was responsible for energy procurement and energy management across the utility’s multiple operating states. There he implemented an industry award-winning electricity load management program that yielded significant cost savings to the utility. During the Rendell Administration, Julien served as a program manager within the Office of Energy and Technology Deployment at the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) developing and managing energy efficiency and alternative energy programs for businesses operating in Pennsylvania.
Julien received his Bachelor of Science degree from Washington College in 1996.
